Holiday Inn, Birmingham Airport, has agreed to sponsor all of the ingredients for the club and has also invited the children over for a tour of a professional kitchen in the hope of inspiring some chefs of the future.

Balsall Common Primary School Academy recently had a Sponsored Read, Ready Steady Read, in conjunction with Usborne Books at Home and Well Balanced Books.
Mrs Jennifer Reed, yes honestly her name is Reed, said, “I was thrilled to be able to work with BCPS earlier this year, to help Mrs Shimmell organise a Ready Steady Read event. The pupils at Balsall Common Primary did an amazing job, and thanks to their efforts, we managed to raise an amazing total of £1,647.43.

Howards Hat Trick!


Howard Rose, Central Schools Trust Lead for Funding & Publicity, based at Balsall Common Primary School Academy, has done it again, scooping his third award in 12 months. He fought off stiff competition to take the Forest of Arden, Marriott Hotel & Solihull Observer’s Business Man of The Year.
Howard said, ‘I am surprised but delighted to receive the Forest of Arden, Marriott Hotel

Year 5 Pupils learn to firefight!


Children from Balsall Common Primary School, Coventry have been on a very special trip. They were given a hands-on tour of the College.

Steve Skarratt, Head of Prevention and Protection Training, was the tour guide for the day along with Justin Thorn, Head of Operational Training. The children started the tour in the classroom learning some of the dos and don’ts of fire. They then moved onto the simulation suite to put some of their new found skills into practice by being an incident commander and directing a fire crew.

Balsall Common Primary School F1 Challenge Winners

A team of Year 4 budding engineers from Balsall Common Primary School, called Sonic Speed, have won a place at the National Final in the F1 in Schools Challenge Midlands Regional Final, which was held at Princethorpe College.

 The F1 in Schools Jaguar Primary School Challenge engages with primary school students and teachers. It involves designing and manufacturing the fastest car possible, by emulating the design and engineering processes employed by engineering companies.
